Learn to hold the room

The Presence In Play Teacher Training is a 200-hour certification in guiding people out of their heads and back into play. Over four months, hybrid online and in-person in Southern California, you'll learn the full craft: the breathwork and somatic foundations, the games, the sequencing of a session, and how to hold a room safely when people go deep. You'll leave certified to teach the Presence In Play method, trained personally by the person who built it.

Who this is for

You don't need to be a clown. You need to be a holder.

This training is built for people others already trust to lead a room, or people ready to become that. Four kinds of people keep showing up:

Improvisers

You've sensed that being funny is a by-product of joy and flow, not the goal. This training teaches you what's actually underneath your best sets, and how to give it to other people.

Coaches, facilitators & teachers

You already lead groups. You want a deeper, more embodied toolkit than talking at people, one that gets a room out of its collective head in minutes.

Healers & bodyworkers

You work with bodies and nervous systems every day. This adds play and laughter to your practice, the two most underused tools in the healing world.

Performers ready to teach

You've spent years on stage. Teaching is a different craft, and this training builds it deliberately: guiding instead of performing, creating space instead of filling it.

The curriculum

200 hours, six pillars

The training moves the way a session does: it begins in your body, not on the page. You learn to descend yourself before you ever learn to guide a room, because you can't take people somewhere you can't go.

1

The architecture of a session

The full arc: arrival, stillness, music, play, ensemble, closing. How to move a room through all of it without anyone feeling pushed.

2

Breath & somatic foundations

The body-based tools that make the work land in the nervous system instead of the intellect, and the why behind each one.

3

Facilitation over instruction

The difference between teaching and guiding. How to create space rather than perform expertise. This is the heart of the method.

4

The games & the State

The core toolkit: the State, the split brain, and the games that unlock spontaneous play in people who swear they aren't playful.

5

Holding vulnerability safely

How to read a room in real time, keep people held when they go deep, and know the edges of the work.

6

Teaching under the method

What carrying the Presence In Play name asks of you. You finish by leading real sessions, in real rooms, with feedback.

The investment

Founding members pay less and shape more.

Cohort 1 is different from every cohort that follows, and that's the point. Founding members help shape the program as co-creators, share their story, and lock the lowest price this training will ever have.

Save $750 Founding Rate · Cohort 1 Only $2,750 Full 200-hour certification

The founding price, available to the first 18 members only. It never comes back.

Standard Tuition $3,500 Cohort 2 onward

What every future cohort pays. The founding list gets first access to the lower rate.

No deposits yet, on purpose. We're finalizing the schedule and the in-person locations, which will be within two to four hours of LA (think Ojai, or LA itself). When everything is locked, full details and enrollment go out by email, and the founding list gets first claim on the 18 seats. Students arrange their own room and board for the in-person intensives. We won't take a dollar until the details deserve your money.

Your teacher

Trained by the person who built it

Jet Eveleth spent two decades in the top rooms of American comedy: a founding member of iO's legendary Harold team The Reckoning, a Second City veteran, half of the duo Adsit & Eveleth, and a clown in the Vegas show Absinthe. Then she became a doctor of integrative medicine, studied breathwork with Wim Hof in the Pyrenees, and braided all of it back into one practice.

She has taught it at Esalen, at the Elysian, and at Columbia College as a professor of comedy studies. This training is the first time the full method leaves her hands. Cohort 1 learns it directly from her, in a room of 18.

How it works

Three steps to a founding seat

1. Join the list

One email address. No deposit, no commitment, no forms. You're simply first in line for everything that follows.

2. The details land

The full schedule, the locations, the syllabus, and the enrollment date arrive in your inbox before they appear anywhere else.

3. Founding enrollment opens

The list gets first claim on the 18 seats at $2,750. When they're gone, the founding rate is gone.

Questions

The three everyone asks

Do I need to be an improviser or a clown?

No. You need to be someone ready to hold space for others. Many trainees come from coaching, therapy, teaching, and bodywork, not the stage. The performance skills are taught; the readiness to hold people is what we look for.

When can I actually enroll?

When the details deserve your money. We're locking the schedule and the in-person locations now, and we won't take a dollar until they're final. Everything opens by email, founding list first.

What does the certification let me do?

Graduates are certified to teach the Presence In Play method: the session structure, the games, and the somatic foundations, under the Presence In Play name. You finish having already led the work in real rooms with feedback.

18 founding seats at $2,750. Then the price goes up and stays up.

If you've walked out of a session cracked open and thought "I want to give this to people," this is the room where you learn how.
